Fantastic Regatta!
To one and all - thanks for supporting our Club and the
2009 Sail One Winter Championship Regatta
and we hope to see you all again at next year's Regatta.
RESULTS FROM DAY THREE OF SAILING
Thank you to everyone who participated in this regatta and helped make it such a success. Without your help, we couldn't have done it - so thanks.

420 World Championship 2009 - Riva del Garda, Italy
(27th July - 5th August 2009)

In the women’s fleet, Alexandra MALONEY and Bianca BARBARICH-BACHER (MBSC) took the title, clearly enjoying the breezy conditions typical of Garda. The MBSC pair narrowly missed the medals at the Youth Worlds in Buzios and so will be particularly delighted to leave Italy with the top prize. Results
Congratulations to you both - you've been a tremendous inspiration to other members of the Club. The interest in 420 sailing has increased dramatically at MBSC and with your continued participation the Club should only get stronger in this Class. Travel safely home both of you and we look forward to catching up with you during the season and seeing your medals.
Sam Meech gets Gold in Brasil

2009 Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Champs

Sam Meech
The NZL Yachting Trust Youth Team has rounded out a top day on the water in Brazil at the 2009 Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championship with all members improving their overall standings after the three races just sailed. With one day of competition remaining Sam Meech (MBSC) has run away with the Boy’s Laser Radial Gold with an insurmountable margin.
Sam returned two race wins and a second on the water (17th July 2009) adding to his already impressive run at this 2009 Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championship. He has secured the Gold medal without having to sail the final race. Sam won bronze at last year’s Championship and has this year been completely dominant, demonstrating talent too hot for his 52 competitors.
